Sundance History

Sundance Wyoming is nestled in the valley of the Bearlodge Mountains in Northeastern Wyoming on the western edge of the Black Hills. History and folklore abounds in the streets that were made for freight wagons and teams of horses, the Sundance Kid did his only jail time here and you can relive the history in the Crook County Museum, located in the historic Old Stoney Building.

Sundance was established in 1875 as a trading post and prospered in the wide open frontier of its time. Not much has changed in the 100 plus years - the skies are still huge and Sundance Mountain is breathtaking with its Native American Heritage and its monumental vista towering over this small town, population 1075.

OVERVIEW
Treat your family to a real western experience at the Buffalo Jump Steakhouse. Worth the drive!
Offering Top Quality Beef, Buffalo, Seafood, House-smoked Barbeque, Fine Wine and Spirits.

The original part of the building was a general store dating back to the late 1890s. In 1947, the building became a supper club known as the Royal Club. The Royal Club is still remembered fondly by a large part of the local population. In the 1980s, the Royal Club became the Buffalo Jump Saloon - a true western bar and steakhouse. After closing its doors in 1994, the Buffalo Jump remained closed until 2005. After a little renovation and a major facelift, the Buffalo Jump Saloon was re-opened on June 27, 2005, to become one of the area's most popular destination steakhouses.

The restaurant features an old time bar, a natural stone fireplace, wildlife mounts, as well as rustic tables and chairs.

If you are looking for a top notch steakhouse with an original country western atmosphere, this is the place.
